This week in AP Lit was the climax of the "What is Literature?" project. When push came to shove, and our group finally got to present, I was not in the class. I put all of my trust in my group members to represent us well. It worked out well because I had done the majority of the work preparing for the presentation, and I am glad that I can now say every person in the group has pulled their weight.
The focus this week has been the presentations. After my group presented my job became to learn more about the other elements of fiction. Watching other peoples' presentations has been a good way to get information about the other elements. I am glad that more than one person or group can present on the elements of fiction. That makes it a lot easier to digest and understand each element. I think it is also helpful to see other groups' perspectives on the elements of fiction. I have not yet seen another group present the elements that I chose, but I am hoping to see one to see if they found something that I could not find.
This project has been such a big part of AP lit in the past weeks, I almost forget what class is going to be without it. I do look forward to getting back into the groove of poems of the week and creative writing. Mr. Schoenborn has been hinting that we are going to use this project to sort of jump off into the next one, and I am a little nervous to find out what that entails.
